Professional Services
Doctor at Lou’s Place
There is a medical service with a female doctor and nurse at Lou’s Place on Tuesday mornings.
We do most of the things a GP does including:
• General health checks
• Pap smears
• Women’s health checks
• Blood tests (if needed)
• Asthma care
• Arrange ante-natal care for pregnant women if needed
• Vaccinations for hepatitis B, flu (in season), tetanus, rubella and measles. Hepatitis A and pneumoccocal vaccines can also be provided if a week’s notice is given.
If a client needs to see a specialist or have some tests or Xrays, we do our best to arrange quality care for minimal cost.
Sometimes it is possible for us to help clients obtain certain essential medications. Note: There are no drugs that can be misused or that are likely to be sold on site. No scripts are written for medications with “street value” (e.g. benzos, other sleepers, narcotics).
Lawyer at Lou’s Place
There is a legal advice clinic with a female lawyer at Lou’s Place every Wednesday morning. The lawyer provides confidential legal advice and helps clients understand their rights and obligations under the law.
The type of issues the lawyer can address include:
• Tenancy
- Adult guardianship and financial management orders
• Domestic violence and apprehended violence orders (AVOs)
• Credit and debt
• Victim compensation
• Discrimination
• Fines
• Criminal law
Clients who need advice on a legal problem or would just like to know whether a problem involves any legal issues can make an appointment to see the lawyer.
