Lou’s Place is a Sydney charity almost entirely funded by private donation. Originally set up with the support of 28 families, each of which made a commitment to support Lou’s Place over its first five years of operation, this women’s refuge continues to rely on the generous support of individuals, corporations and private foundations to keep our doors open.
We thank, from the bottom of our hearts, all those who have supported Lou’s Place over the years. We believe in what we do and thank you for believing in us.
In addition to money, we gratefully accept the following donations:
Clothes
We are most grateful for donations of good quality, seasonally appropriate clothes throughout the year. But before heading over to Lou’s with your donations, please call our staff to arrange a time to drop items off, as we have no storage space and our front office area is very limited.

What do we need? The women like jeans, trackies, sportswear, hoodies and sports-style footwear. They also love dresses, pretty tops and costume jewellery. Handbags are always welcome.
We consistently need new underwear and bras in all sizes, new socks, and new swimming costumes (for hydrotherapy).
All sizes are welcome, but plus sizes are very popular.
